Licences to manufacture veterinary chemical products in Australia are issued with specific licence conditions.?
This means licence holders are required to comply with all conditions contained within the Agvet Code Regulations or listed on the licence by the APVMA. If a holder does not comply they may be subject to enforcement actions. The APVMA monitors compliance of licence conditions as part of ongoing compliance and enforcement activities, including scheduling site audits.
The APVMA does not license overseas manufacturers and does not impose licence conditions on them.
While the APVMA does not license overseas manufacturers?or impose licence conditions on them, imported products may still be subject to certain registration conditions. Overseas manufacturers must comply with all registration conditions to legally supply intermediate or finished products in Australia.
Non-compliance with licence conditions
If a person is manufacturing a veterinary chemical product without the appropriate licence, they may be committing an offence under the Agvet Code.
Contravention of licence conditions can result in the suspension or cancellation of the licence. Licences are subject to the conditions outlined under section 126 of the Agvet Code and Regulation 61 of the Agvet Code Regulations in addition to any other specified conditions on the licence.
